How we price and review
Every cost page states a price range, what drives it, where the number came from, and the date it was checked.
Data sources
- Vendors' published pricing pages, captured (page text and screenshot) with the date we checked them, and linked from every price.
- Third-party data such as published surveys, only when a vendor doesn't publish a price, always named and dated.
- Official sources (IRS, HMRC, SBA, lender disclosures) for finance and tax figures.
How software comparisons work
Comparisons are researched guides built from each vendor's published pricing page. We haven't tested these products hands-on unless a page explicitly says so. We record the starting price, the renewal or month-to-month price, plan limits that force an upgrade, required fees and add-ons the vendor lists.
What we won't do
- Publish a number without a source and a date.
- Show only the intro price when the renewal is higher.
- Estimate figures and present them as data. If we don't know, we say "n/a".
Update cadence
Price tables are reviewed at least quarterly, and immediately when a reader or vendor reports a change. The "price checked" date on each table shows the last review.
